Dorothy Forster Court

Dorothy Forster Court is in the middle of Alnwick, a few steps from the castle gate. It's one of the oldest buildings in the town, so it's a proper old place. You find it through a private doorway on Narrowgate, then go down a passageway to get to your door.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. Because it's an old building, the stairs are steep. They're spiral stairs too, and a bit narrow. You need to take care on them.

The living space is open plan and on the first floor. One bedroom is there too, looking over the courtyard. The main king size bedroom is up another flight in the roof, with old beams. It has views towards the castle.

A pub is about twenty yards away. A shop is a few minutes' walk. You're right in the town for cafes and restaurants. The castle is the big thing here, famous from the Harry Potter films. The Alnwick Garden is spectacular, with its big waterfall and the poison garden. They've also got a huge treehouse restaurant there.

For the coast, Alnmouth beach is about four miles east. For a longer stretch of sand, head up to Bamburgh or down to Druridge Bay. The Northumberland Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Inland, you've got the Cheviot hills.

For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage if you bring them. No pets.
