Joellen Cottage
Joellen Cottage is in Alnwick town centre. It's a stone terraced house. Sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom has its own shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The living room is straightforward, with a couch and a TV. The kitchen has what you need. The stairs are normal.
You're right in the middle of things. There's a shop about 200 yards away and a pub even closer. The castle is a five minute walk. It's Alnwick Castle, where they filmed some Harry Potter scenes. The gardens are worth seeing too, with the big treehouse.
If you want the coast, Alnmouth is four miles east. It's a nice village with a big sandy beach, a couple of pubs, and a golf course beside the sea. For a longer walk, the Northumberland Coast Path is accessible from there. The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covers all that coastline.

If you're planning trips, Northumberland National Park is about half an hour west for walking in the Cheviots. The English Heritage site for Northumberland is useful for castles like Warkworth and Dunstanburgh, which are within a 30 minute drive.
