Blackbird House
Blackbird House is a terraced stone cottage on Lisburn Street in Alnwick. It's old, Regency period, so the rooms are a good size but the layout is straightforward. Sleeps four, in two double bedrooms. There's one bathroom upstairs.
It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. The living room has an open fire. The kitchen has a dining table. The back garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. You can bring up to two.
You're about a three minute walk from the town centre. There's a shop, a couple of pubs, and restaurants all within 200 yards. Alnwick Castle is a ten minute walk. The gardens are a bit further, maybe fifteen minutes. They're worth it for the treehouse restaurant and the water cascade.
The coast is about four miles east. You can be at Alnmouth beach in under ten minutes by car. To the west, you've got Rothbury and the start of the moors.
For a longer day out, Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands are about half an hour's drive north. The Northumberland Coast is all accessible from here. The Northumberland National Park is about the same drive inland.
Facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on the street directly outside.
