Cheviot View

Cheviot View is a semi-detached cottage on a working farm about two miles north of Alnwick. You’ve got a garden to yourselves, which is enclosed, so it’s fine for dogs.

It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean. You’ll get the views. The living room and two of the bedrooms look south over fields, and you can see the Cheviot Hills to the west.

It’s a proper mixed farm. There are cows, calves, horses, and three pet pigs called Prudence, Portia and Primrose. You’ll see them about. The lane to the cottage goes through the farmyard, so you might meet a tractor.

Shops and pubs are back in Alnwick, two miles away. Alnwick is good. You’ve got the castle and the gardens, which are worth a visit.

The coast is about a twenty minute drive. Places like Alnmouth and Bamburgh have those big, sandy beaches Northumberland is known for. Bamburgh Castle is impressive.

There are a lot of castles and big houses around here. Warkworth, Dunstanburgh, and Cragside are all within half an hour. The Northumberland National Park is on the doorstep for walking. If you’re heading to the coast, the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty site has useful information.

Facilities: there’s a woodburning stove for cooler nights, a washing machine, TV, Wi-Fi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We take up to three pets.
