Seascape

Seascape is one of two cottages on our small farm, Proctors Stead. It's near the hamlet of Dunstan. The coast at Craster is about a mile away.

The cottage sleeps six. Three bedrooms, all doubles, and one main bathroom upstairs. There's a small cloakroom downstairs. It's got a four-star rating, which fits. It's comfortable and well-equipped.

The living room has a wood burner. The kitchen and dining area is a decent size. Upstairs, the bedrooms look out over farmland towards the sea. You can see Dunstanburgh Castle ruins from the windows.

The place is quiet. It's a farm with a small, private caravan park on the site as well. Craster village is less than a mile down the lane. That's where you get the kippers. The local pub is about a mile away.

The coast around here is very good. Embleton Bay, which is a couple of miles north, has a long sandy beach. Beadnell Bay is about seven miles north for watersports. Seahouses is a bit further for boat trips out to the Farne Islands.

Alnwick is seven miles inland. The castle is there, and the Alnwick Garden. Bamburgh village and its castle are about ten miles up the coast.

For facilities: there's parking, a garden, a washing machine, dishwasher, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets.

If you're planning to explore, the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty site is useful, and the National Trust has most of the big coastal sites.
