Fallodon Burnhouses

Fallodon Burnhouses is in Doxford, which is about three miles from the beach at Embleton. It's an old schoolhouse, so all the rooms are on the ground floor. That makes things easy.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom was just done up, so everything in there is new. The place has a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and in good order.

The garden is large. It's about an acre, and it includes a bit of private woodland. There's a shallow stream running through that woodland. It's unfenced, just so you know.

The view from the back looks over fields towards Doxford Hall. You can walk to the hall in about ten minutes if you fancied a meal or a spa treatment.

The coast is the main reason to come, I expect. Embleton Bay is the nearest beach. It's a good, sandy one. Craster is down the road for kippers. Alnmouth is about six miles south, and Bamburgh Castle is ten miles north. All that coast is great for walking. The Northumberland Coast National Landscape website has maps.

For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and a woodburner. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. There's a games room in an outbuilding. No pets, sorry.

If you're looking for more to do, Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about a twenty minute drive. The National Trust has a lot of places along this coast too, like Dunstanburgh Castle.
