This is Dotty Cottage in Brownieside, Northumberland. It's terraced, one in a row of a few. You get the enclosed garden at the back, which is handy if you've got kids or a dog. The view from there is over fields, which is nice.
It sleeps six people. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are normal, nothing tricky.
It's about halfway between Beadnell and Seahouses. The beach at Beadnell Bay is a couple of minutes in the car. Seahouses has the harbour for boat trips out to the Farne Islands, which is great for seeing the puffins and seals. You can walk to Holy Island from here too, but you must check the tide times. The council website has the tide tables.
The local pub is about a mile down the road. The nearest shop is a few miles away in Seahouses, so it's best to stock up on your way in.
For a day out, Alnwick is about twenty minutes' drive. The castle and the gardens are worth seeing. Bamburgh Castle is even closer, maybe fifteen minutes. The beach there is massive. Walkers will like the Northumberland Coast Path.
In the cottage you've got a woodburning stove, parking for two cars, a washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
