Fordson

Fordson is in Warenford. It's a bungalow, so everything is on one level. That can be handy.

It sleeps six, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rating says four star, which I think means it's comfortable and has what you need. It's not a show home, but it's clean and warm.

You're about five miles inland from Bamburgh and its beaches. The coast is easy to get to. Seahouses is a few minutes away for boat trips out to the Farne Islands.

The village is quiet. There's a pub that does food about thirty yards from the cottage. For a shop, you'll need to drive to Belford, about four miles.

You can use the lawn area here, and there's a shared hard tennis court nearby. The owners also have a sauna and a gym on the site that guests can use.

For days out, Bamburgh Castle is obvious. Holy Island is about a half hour drive, but you must check the tide times for the causeway. Alnwick Castle and gardens are within half an hour too. The Cheviot hills are behind you if you want to walk.

We take up to two dogs.
