Ashleigh House
Ashleigh House is on the main street in Belford village. It's a terraced cottage, but you've got the whole place to yourselves and the garden out the back. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's nicely done and comfortable. The stairs are the original ones, so they're steep but fine if you take your time. There's a handrail. Because the house is old, there are a few small steps between some of the rooms inside.
You get two living rooms. One has a wood burner, the other is a quieter spot. There's a proper kitchen and a dining area. The back garden is a mix of decking and slate, with a chiminea for cooler evenings. It's enclosed, so it's fine for dogs.
Belford has a couple of shops, a tea room, and pubs. It's about a mile from the A1, so getting places is straightforward.
You're well placed here. Bamburgh Beach and its castle are about five miles away. Alnwick is 20 minutes drive, with the castle and the famous Alnwick Garden. Berwick-upon-Tweed is about 15 miles north. Holy Island is a 25 minute drive, but you must check the tide times for the causeway.
For walks, you're close to the St Cuthbert's Way and the Northumberland Coast Path. The whole coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Cheviot hills are inland if you want proper hiking.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
