Stable Cottage is in Chatton village. It was a barn, converted about ten years ago. It's just off the main street, behind a stone wall.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two bedrooms are upstairs and one is on the ground floor. That downstairs one has its own shower room, which is handy. The main living room is on the first floor. It's a bit unusual, but it gets the afternoon light. The stairs are normal, not a ladder.
The garden is fully enclosed, with a patio. It's not huge, but it's private and you can sit out. Parking for two cars on the gravel.
There's a village shop and a pub about 200 yards away. The pub serves food. It's fine. If you fish, the Chatton Trout Fishery is at the edge of the village. You don't need a rod licence there.
Wooler is about five miles west. That's got supermarkets and a few more shops. It's where a lot of walkers and cyclists base themselves for the Cheviots. St Cuthbert's Way runs through nearby, if you're after a long-distance walk.
It's about a 15-minute drive east to the coast. Bamburgh Castle is there, right on the beach. It's run by the Bamburgh Castle trust. Further up the coast, Holy Island is about half an hour away, but you have to check the tide times.
Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed are both around 30 minutes by car. Alnwick has the castle and gardens. Berwick is a walled town on the river.
Inside, it's got Wi-Fi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. All the bedding and towels are included. The entrance is level and the downstairs bedroom and shower room are suitable for a wheelchair. No pets, sorry.
