Dovecote House is in Wooler. It's a Victorian terrace house up the hill from the town centre. It sleeps five, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom.
It's got a 4 Star rating so it's well kept. The kitchen is big and open plan, with a couple of sofas and a wood burner in there. Upstairs, there's another sitting room with good views over the fields and hills. The stairs are a typical old house staircase, so they turn a corner and are a bit steeper at the top.
There's a shop and a pub about a three minute walk away. The pub does food. The coast is about twenty minutes drive. Bamburgh beach is good, with the castle. Seahouses is where you get the boat trips out to the Farne Islands to see the puffins and seals. Holy Island is a bit further, you have to check the tide times for the crossing.
For walking, you're right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. The Cheviot hills are there. Good cycling routes too, the roads are quiet. There's a golf course about four miles away.
Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about half an hour's drive. That's the one used in the Harry Potter films.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
