Hetton Byre
Hetton Byre is near Holburn, in Northumberland. It's a one-bedroom cottage that sleeps two, plus two dogs. We live next door.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well finished. The main room is open plan with a wood burner. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The bedroom has an en-suite shower. The garden is enclosed, so it's fine for dogs. The parking is right outside.
It's very quiet here. You're just looking at fields. The nearest pub and shop are about four miles away, in Chatton.
You're well placed for the coast. Bamburgh Castle is about a twenty minute drive. The beach there is good. Holy Island is a bit further, but you can drive over when the tide's out. Just check the crossing times.
For walking, you've got the Cheviot Hills inland, or the coast path. Wooler is the main town for the hills. Alnwick, with its castle and big gardens, is about half an hour south.
