Farne Cottage is in Belford, on a quiet road that doesn't go through. It's one of four in a terrace, and it looks out over the burn. There's a caravan park, Bluebell Farm, next door, and a public launderette on site if you need it.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean and everything works, but it's not a luxury place. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have dogs or kids.
Belford is a handy village. It's got a couple of pubs that do food, a small hotel, shops, and a bus service. People call it the gateway to the coast. Bamburgh is only five miles away. The castle is massive, and the beach is huge and sandy. It's a proper north Northumberland beach.
From here, you're well placed for the coast. Holy Island is about a 15 minute drive, but you must check the tide times. Seahouses is ten minutes south, that's where you get the boats to the Farne Islands. Alnwick with its castle and gardens is a 20 minute drive inland.
For a longer day out, you can get to the Northumberland National Park in under half an hour, or up to Berwick-upon-Tweed in about 25 minutes.
The facilities are what you'd expect. There's parking, wifi, a TV, a cot and highchair. Bedding is included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a walk-in shower. The garden has a patio and a BBQ.
