The Gable
The Gable is one of a small terrace of three cottages in West Lyham. It's at the end of the row, so you get the side garden to yourselves. It's enclosed, good for a dog. The views out of the front are just fields.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and recently done up, but it's still a cottage so the rooms aren't huge. The kitchen has what you need, and the wood burner in the lounge works well.
You're really out in the country here. The nearest proper shops are in Belford or Wooler, both about four miles away. Belford has a pub that does good food. Wooler is a small market town at the edge of the Cheviot Hills, good if you're walking.
The coast is close. Bamburgh is about nine miles east. The beach is massive and the castle is impressive. You can see Holy Island from there. The Northumberland Coast is all designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so the driving is good.
If you fish, Chatton Trout Fishery is just down the road. You don't need a licence there. For walking, St Cuthbert's Way runs nearby. Golf is available too.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, a washing machine, bike storage, and parking right outside. WiFi is included. Bedding and towels are provided. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
