Bellshill Tower is near Bellshill, north of Rothbury. It’s exactly what it sounds like, a converted tower, sat on its own in about 23 acres of woodland. You can't see any neighbours. The views are across fields towards Bamburgh Castle and the sea one way, and the Cheviots the other.
It’s on three floors. There’s a shower room and open-plan living space with a kitchen on the ground floor. The wood burner is new, but it's a proper one. Doors go straight out to the deck and the trees. There’s a hammock you can put up between two big trees at the front.
Up a floor is the main bedroom, a king size, and the family bathroom. Then up another flight to the top floor, which has two more bedrooms. One is a double, the other has twins. Those rooms have big arched windows, so they're bright and the views are good.
It sleeps six and has a 4 Star rating. It’s been done up well, everything works and it's clean. The stairs are what you'd expect in a tower. They're not a problem, but they are stairs.
You’re about 20 minutes from the coast at places like Bamburgh and Alnmouth. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about half an hour away. For a big day out, you're not far from the Northumberland National Park, or you can drive up to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
In terms of what's there: all bedding and towels, WiFi, parking right there, a washing machine, dishwasher, an enclosed garden area with a BBQ. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
