The Mill House is a detached barn conversion in Warenford. It's a small, quiet village inland, about five miles from the coast. You're on your own, not attached to anything, with a garden that goes down to a little stream. It's peaceful.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's not huge, but it's a good size for a group or a family.
The stairs are fairly steep, just so you know. It's an old building.
There's a pub with a restaurant about 30 yards up the road. It's good for a meal. For a shop or a garage, you'll need to drive about a mile to Belford.
You're in a good spot here. Bamburgh and its castle are about five miles away. The beach there is long and sandy. Seahouses is a bit closer, where you can get boats out to the Farne Islands to see the seals and puffins. Holy Island is about a 25-minute drive, but you must check the tide times for the causeway.
If you head the other way, you're into the Cheviot Hills pretty quickly for walking. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about a 15-minute drive. Berwick-upon-Tweed is about 20 minutes north.
On site, there's a shared hard tennis court you can use. There's also a small shared sauna and gym in a separate building near the cottages.
Facilities: it's got all the things you'd expect. Wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking. You can bring up to two dogs.
