The Nest is a camping pod on our farm in Brownieside. It's in its own paddock, so it's detached and private. It sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's warm and dry, with underfloor heating, which is good for Northumberland.
You get a deck at the front with a table and chairs, a barbecue, and a firepit. The view from there is across fields to the sea. It's quiet. You can see the lights from Bamburgh Castle at night.
It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep and hear birds. There's a pond down the track. We're about four miles from the coast. The nearest beach is at Embleton, which is good for sand and walking.
The local pub is in Rennington, about six miles away. It does food. The nearest shop is in Ellingham, about four miles. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Alnwick.
For days out, Craster is close. You can walk from there along the coast past Dunstanburgh Castle to Low Newton-by-the-Sea. That's a good walk. Seahouses is about eight miles. You can get boat trips to the Farne Islands from there for the birds and seals. Bamburgh is a bit further, maybe ten miles. The castle is worth seeing.
Alnwick is about seven miles inland. It's a proper market town with shops and Alnwick Castle and Gardens.
In the pod, there's a small kitchen with a fridge and hob, a sofa, a TV, and WiFi. The bed is made up for you with bedding and towels included. There's parking right next to it. No pets, sorry.
