The Nest

The Nest is a glamping pod on our farm in Brownieside. It's for two people. One room with a bed, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating.

It's detached, in its own paddock. You get the whole deck and the outdoor space to yourselves. The view from the deck looks out over our fields to the sea. It's very quiet.

Inside, it's open plan. There's underfloor heating, a kitchen area, a sofa and a TV. The bed's comfy. Everything's clean and modern. It's glamping, so it's a nice shed, really. But it's warm and it works.

Outside, there's a table, chairs, a barbecue, and a firepit. You can sit out there in the evening.

The coast is about four miles east. Good beaches at Embleton and Beadnell. You can walk from Craster past Dunstanburgh Castle to Low Newton-by-the-Sea. That's a nice one. Seahouses is a bit further, about seven miles. That's where you get the boats out to the Farne Islands to see the birds and seals.

Bamburgh village and its castle are about ten miles north. Alnwick, with its castle and gardens, is seven miles inland. The Northumberland National Park isn't far if you want proper walking.

On the practical side: bedding and towels are included. There's parking right by the pod. WiFi works. There's no shop or pub in the hamlet, the nearest are about four to six miles away. The A1 is a mile west, so it's easy to get to places. No pets.
