Wayside

Wayside is a detached house in Beadnell. The village is the old part, not the newer caravan parks. It's got a 4 Star rating.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. Two bathrooms, which helps. The master bedroom is on the ground floor. The other two bedrooms, both twins, are upstairs.

There's a main living room with big windows looking out over the fields. It's light. The kitchen is modern and leads off the dining area. There's also a separate snug room, and a games room with a full-sized pool table. The cues are short ones for tricky shots against the wall.

Outside, there's an enclosed garden and parking on site.

The village has a shop about 300 yards away. There's a pub and a restaurant about 200 yards. They're good, family-friendly places.

For the beach, you've got a couple of choices. There's a small sandy bay with rocks a short walk away, which leads to a long beach towards Seahouses. The main Beadnell Bay, which is that big sandy one everyone knows, is about half a mile. It's very popular for water sports.

Seahouses is two miles north. That's where you get the boat trips out to the Farne Islands to see the birds and seals. It's got shops and cafes. Bamburgh, with its castle, is about five miles up the coast. You can see Holy Island from the beach on a clear day.

Inland, Alnwick is about a 20-minute drive. The castle is there, and the Alnwick Garden with its treehouse restaurant.

Facilities include WiFi, a TV, washing machine, dishwasher, cot, highchair, and stairgate. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
