Islestone House is in Seahouses. It’s a detached, modern house, so you’re not sharing walls with anyone. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy.
The house has a 4 Star rating. It’s well-finished and comfortable. The main living space is open plan, with a kitchen and a big sunroom at the back. There’s a log burner in the lounge.
You get a garden and patio with a BBQ. Parking is on the drive. All bedding and towels are included. There’s a washing machine and dishwasher. Wifi and a TV are provided. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
The house is about a ten-minute walk from Seahouses harbour. There’s a local pub within a mile. From the harbour, you can get boat trips out to the Farne Islands to see the puffins and seals. The Northumberland Coast Path runs right past, so you can walk along the coast in either direction.
A five-minute drive north gets you to Bamburgh Beach and Bamburgh Castle. The golf course is there too. About fifteen minutes south by car is Craster, famous for its kippers, and the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle.
Alnwick is twenty minutes inland. You’ve got Alnwick Castle and the Alnwick Garden. The Northumberland National Park is about a half-hour drive west if you want proper hills and dark skies for stargazing.
