Driftwood Cottage is in High Newton by the Sea. It's a semi-detached barn conversion, all on one level except for four steps up to the front door.
The main thing is the location. You are about a five minute walk from the beach. It's a good, sandy one. The cottage sleeps six in three double bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The living area is open plan. It's a decent space and gets the light. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings.
Facilities wise: parking is on site, bedding and towels are included, and there's a washing machine and dishwasher. You can bring up to two dogs.
In the village there's a pub that does good food. For a shop, you'd drive to Embleton, which is a couple of miles south. That village has its own beach and a couple more pubs.
Beadnell is about four miles north. The bay there is good for windsurfing and that sort of thing. Seahouses is a bit further on. Boat trips to the Farne Islands leave from there. You'll see a lot of birds and seals.
Bamburgh is about a twenty minute drive. The castle is worth seeing. Alnwick is about half an hour inland. It has a castle and the Alnwick Garden. There are more shops there.
