Driftwood Cottage is in High Newton, up near Beadnell Bay. It used to be a barn. It's semi-detached, so you've got neighbours on one side. The main door is up four steps, but after that it's all on one level inside.
It sleeps six. Three double bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortably kitted out and in good order. It's an open plan living space, so if someone's watching the telly and someone else is cooking, you're all together.
You can walk down to the beach at Newton in a few minutes. It's a sandy one, good for a run about. The village has a pub, about half a mile away. They do food. For a shop, you'd drive to Embleton or Seahouses.
Seahouses is a short drive up the coast. That's where the boats go out to the Farne Islands. It's good for a trip if you like birds or seals. There's more info on the National Trust site. Bamburgh is close too. The castle is very big. You see it for miles.
Alnwick is about twenty minutes inland. It's a proper market town. The castle there is where the Duke of Northumberland lives. They've also got Alnwick Garden, which people like. The bookshop is big and a bit mad.
Facilities: there's a washing machine and dishwasher. WiFi, TV. Parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
If you're planning walks, the Northumberland Coast National Landscape site has maps and ideas.
