Teal Cottage

Teal Cottage is a terrace house in the middle of Embleton village. It's stone-built, like most of them here. The place sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

The stairs are steep. That's just how these cottages are built. There's parking right outside, which is useful.

You can walk to a decent village shop in about a minute. The pub is a couple of minutes further. They do food. The beach at Embleton Bay is about a twenty minute walk. It's a good beach, a big sandy bay.

If you turn left out of the cottage and walk along the coastal path, you'll get to Craster in a couple of miles. That's where the kipper smokehouse is. Turn right and you walk up to Dunstanburgh Castle. It's a ruin on the cliffs. The walk from Craster to the castle is very popular.

By car, Seahouses is about ten minutes away. That's where you get the boat trips out to the Farne Islands to see the seabirds and seals. Alnwick is maybe fifteen minutes, for the castle and the gardens.

Inside, it's open plan downstairs. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. The wi-fi works. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.

Useful links if you're planning: National Trust Dunstanburgh Castle for the castle walk, and Northumberland Coast National Landscape for general information.
