Alice Cottage is in Embleton. It's a stone cottage, sleeps six, three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not luxurious.
The village is quiet. There's a shop and a post office, and a couple of pubs that do food. The beach is about a ten minute walk. It's Embleton Bay, which is sandy and good for a proper walk. You can see Dunstanburgh Castle from there.
The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steeper than modern ones. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but it's an old cottage so the rest of it isn't. You can bring one dog.
It's a good spot for the coast. You can walk along the beach to Low Newton-by-the-Sea for a drink. Craster is a few minutes in the car, famous for kippers. Seahouses is where you get the boat trips out to the Farne Islands to see the birds and seals.
Alnwick is about a fifteen minute drive. The castle and gardens are there. Barter Books in the old station is a good place if it's raining.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. There's storage for bikes if you bring them.
