Violet Cottage is in Embleton. It's a terrace cottage, right in the middle of the village. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up nicely. It's clean and there's space to spread out a bit. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you've got a dog or kids.
The village shop and a couple of pubs are a short walk away. The pubs do food. Embleton Bay is less than a mile down the road. It's a good beach, proper sand. You can walk to it along the lane or the fields.
For walking, you're right on the edge of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The coastal path goes past Dunstanburgh Castle, which is about a mile and a half along the beach. It's a ruin, but a good one. You can see it from the cottage.
Alnwick is about a ten minute drive. That's where the castle and the famous Alnwick Garden are. Craster, for the kippers, is maybe five minutes by car. Seahouses, for boat trips to the Farne Islands, is about fifteen minutes.
Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi is included. There's parking for one car on the drive. We allow one well-behaved dog. A cot and a highchair are there if you need them.
