Eider Cottage is a bungalow in Embleton. It's compact, but it really is just for sleeping in anyway. It sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom.
The main thing is the view. The back of the cottage looks straight out over fields to the sea. The living room has patio doors that open onto the garden, so you get the view from inside too. You can sit out there with a drink.
It's on a quiet cul-de-sac. There's a lane about thirty seconds walk away that takes you directly down to Embleton Bay. The beach is golden sand, very good for an evening walk. It's very quiet.
The village has what you need. A shop with a post office, a couple of pubs that do food, and a good playpark for kids. All a short walk away.
You're well placed for the coast. Craster is a few minutes drive south. Famous for kippers. The walk from Craster along the cliffs to Dunstanburgh Castle is excellent. English Heritage Dunstanburgh Castle.
Seahouses is north, a little seaside town. That's where you get the boat trips out to the Farne Islands to see the seals and puffins. Plenty of fish and chip shops there.
Alnwick with its castle is about fifteen minutes inland. National Trust Alnwick Castle. The whole coastline here is protected. Northumberland Coast National Landscape.
Facilities: it's all on one level which is handy. Washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking right outside. You can bring two dogs.
