Beadnell itself is a coastal village. You can walk to the beach and the bay in a few minutes. The beach is good for swimming, and people do water sports there. There’s a pub and a hotel in the old part of the village, and a couple of cafes. There’s also a village shop.

Seahouses is two miles up the road. That’s where the working harbour is, and you can get boat trips out to the Farne Islands from there to see the seals and puffins.

Within about half an hour’s drive you’ve got a few things. Bamburgh Castle is a few miles north. Alnwick Castle is about twelve miles south. Holy Island is up the coast too, but you have to check the tide times for the causeway.
