Shafto Cottage

Shafto Cottage is in Seahouses. It's a terraced house, so you've got neighbours, but it's quiet. The main thing is you're about 50 yards from the harbour. You can see the boats. It's handy for the fish and chip shops.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 2 Star rating. It's clean and it works, but don't expect anything flash. You can bring one dog.

You can park right outside, which is good around here. There's a washing machine and the bedding's included.

The village has what you need. There's a pub 150 yards away that does food, and a shop about 100 yards. The golf course is on the links just outside the village.

From the harbour, you can get boat trips out to the Farne Islands. That's for the puffins and seals. It's worth doing. National Trust Farne Islands has the details.

Bamburgh is three miles down the road. The castle is huge and the beach is massive. You can walk to it along the coast if you're feeling fit. The Northumberland National Park isn't far inland, and Alnwick Castle and Gardens is about a 20 minute drive south.
