Northwinds

Northwinds is a house in Seahouses. It's on the edge of the village, so it's quiet but you can walk to the beach and the shops in about ten minutes. You can see the sea and Bamburgh Castle from the front bedrooms.

It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We had the place completely redone a few years ago, so it's all tidy and fresh. The stairs are normal, nothing unusual.

There's two living rooms, one at the front and a smaller snug at the back. Good if some people want to watch something different on the telly. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.

The garden is enclosed with a patio and a swing seat. You can park on the driveway.

The beach is about a hundred yards away. It's a proper sandy beach that goes for miles. The shop and the nearest pub are about a mile away, so a short walk or a two minute drive.

From the harbour in Seahouses, you can get boats out to the Farne Islands to see the puffins and seals. Dolphins sometimes follow the boats. You can play golf and go horse riding in the village too.

Bamburgh is two miles up the road. The castle is worth a look. Beadnell Bay is three miles south, which is good for windsurfing. Alnwick is about a twenty minute drive inland. The castle and the Alnwick Garden are both there.

The whole coastline is protected as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Good links for planning: Northumberland Coast AONB and National Trust North East. The Farne Islands are run by the National Trust too.

No pets, sorry.
