Captains Rest
Captain's Rest is in Seahouses, just across from the harbour. It's a detached house and sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. One bedroom with its own bathroom is in a separate annex across the garden.
The garden at the back is fully enclosed and has lawn and patio areas. It's a decent size. You can park two cars on the drive.
It's a four-star property. That means it's well-equipped and maintained. The fixtures and fittings are of a good standard. It's comfortable.
Being in Seahouses, you're right by the working harbour. You can watch the fishing boats come and go. There are shops, cafes, and pubs a short walk away. The lifeboat station is there too.
From the harbour, you can take boat trips out to the Farne Islands. They're run by the National Trust. You'll see puffins, seals, and lots of other seabirds.
The Northumberland Coast is great for walking. The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty site has maps and information. You can walk to Bamburgh along the beach. The castle is about a mile and a half away.
Alnwick is about a fifteen-minute drive inland. Alnwick Castle and the gardens are there. Further south, Warkworth Castle and Craster are within half an hour.
For facilities, it has a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. The wood-burning stove is nice for cooler evenings. Bedding and towels are provided. There's a cot and highchair if needed.
We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
