St Ebba's Peep

St Ebba's Peep is in Beadnell. It's a row of modern cottages, built to look old. You're in the middle of the village, a few minutes walk from the beach.

It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom is on the ground floor and has its own walk-in shower, which is good if stairs are a problem. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything is clean, modern, and works.

The kitchen was redone a couple of years ago. It has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a small walled courtyard out the back with gravel and seating. It's private and gets the sun.

You can see the top of St Ebba's church from the front. The village shop, a pub, and a restaurant are all a short walk away. Beadnell Bay beach is about a ten minute walk. It's a huge beach, golden sand, good for sailing.

From here, you can walk along the coast to Seahouses, which is about two miles. That's where you get the boat trips to the Farne Islands to see the puffins and seals. The National Trust Farne Islands page has all the details.

Bamburgh Castle is a ten minute drive north. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about half an hour south. Holy Island, Lindisfarne, is about a 25 minute drive, but you have to check the tide times for the causeway.

For walking, the Northumberland Coast Path runs right past. The Northumberland Coast AONB site has maps.

Facilities: it has wifi, TV, bedding and towels are included. There's a cot. You can bring up to two dogs. There is parking for one car on the drive.
