Allium

This is Allium. It's in Brownieside, which is a small place inland from Beadnell in Northumberland. It's a single-storey stone cottage, one of four in a little row.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We've done it up, so it's in good shape. Everything's on one level except for one small step up from the kitchen into the living area.

The main thing is the view from the kitchen window. It looks out over farm fields and you can see the sea. A French door leads out to a decent sized patio and an enclosed garden.

There's a wood burner in the lounge. It makes the place really cosy when it's cold.

You can walk or cycle straight from the door. No need to drive. Beadnell village is about five miles away. It's got a shop and pubs that do food. The beach at Beadnell Bay is sandy and long, good for a walk.

Seahouses is a couple of miles further up the coast from Beadnell. That's where the boat trips to the Farne Islands leave from. Bamburgh and its castle are about three miles past Seahouses.

Alnwick with its castle and gardens is about seven miles to the south west. Holy Island is visible from the beach but it's a drive and you have to check the tide times for the causeway.

For facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is on site. No pets, I'm afraid.

If you're planning things to do, these sites are useful: Northumberland Coast AONB, National Trust North East, and for the islands, RSPB Farne Islands.
