Dovecoat Cottage

Dovecote Cottage is in Embleton. It's a mid-terraced house on the edge of the village. You can see the sea from the front, way off across the fields.

It sleeps five people. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. The master bedroom has its own en-suite. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. Everything's on the ground floor, but there are two steps up to the front door.

The living room has an old feature range in it. It doesn't work, but it's part of the place. The back garden is enclosed. There's an old dovecote in it, which is just there. It's history.

The village shop and a couple of pubs are about five minutes' walk. They do food. The beach at Embleton is about a mile away. It's a very good beach. They won an award for it.

Seahouses is a couple of miles up the coast. That's where you get the boat trips out to the Farne Islands. You can see the puffins and seals. There's a supermarket there too. Beadnell Bay is close as well, if you're into kayaking or kite surfing.

Alnwick is about eight miles inland. Alnwick Castle and the Alnwick Garden are there. There's a big second-hand bookshop called Barter Books in the old train station. It's worth a look.

For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs.
