Cuddy's Rest

Cuddy's Rest is in Belford, about six miles from the coast. It's a small, detached cottage, all on one level.

The front door opens into the living area. It's open plan, so the kitchen, dining and sitting area are all together. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights and patio doors at one end that let in a lot of light. The bedroom comes off the main room and has a built-in wardrobe. There's an ensuite shower room. The owners live next door, and the cottage is behind their house. You park on the driveway.

Belford is a small place. You can walk to a supermarket, a couple of pubs, and a tea room. It's quiet.

The beach at Bamburgh is about a fifteen-minute drive. The castle is there, and it's a long, sandy beach. Holy Island is also close, but you have to check the tide times for the crossing. The view from the island is worth it. The Northumberland Coast is all very accessible from here.

Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed are both about a twenty-minute drive in opposite directions. Alnwick has the castle and gardens. Berwick is a proper old walled town right on the border. Wooler is inland, about ten miles west, and is good if you're walking. St Cuthbert's Way runs nearby.

The cottage has one bedroom, so it sleeps two. It's got a three star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean. There's parking, a small patio area, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are provided.
