Blue Bell Cottage is on the edge of Skipwith village. It's one of two holiday cottages here, next to a small caravan park. The caravan park is quiet, it's mostly seasonal pitches. You have your own enclosed garden, which gets the sun in the afternoon.
It sleeps two people. There are two bedrooms, but they're both singles, so it's really best for one or two people who don't mind separate beds. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's a 3 Star place. That means it's comfortable and has what you need, but it's not luxurious. The kitchen is fine for making breakfast and simple meals.
Skipwith itself is tiny. There's a good village pub about a five minute walk away. For a shop, you'd need to drive to Selby, which is about fifteen minutes. The big thing here is the Skipwith Common nature reserve. It's right on the doorstep, literally across the lane. It's hectares of heath and woodland, good for long walks. Managed by Natural England.
York is about a half hour drive. That's your main day out for history and shops. The coast, like Bridlington or Filey, is also within about 30 to 40 minutes if you fancy the seaside.
Facilities: there's parking right outside the cottage, WiFi, a washing machine in an outhouse, and a cot and highchair if required. Bedding is included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
