Lilac Studio

Lilac Studio is a bungalow in Wheldrake. It’s detached, so it’s just you and your own four walls. The village is quiet. It’s about eight miles from York.

The place sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. Everything’s on the ground floor, so there are no stairs to worry about. It’s got a 3 Star rating. That means it’s comfortable and clean, but don’t expect anything high-end. It’s a proper holiday let.

You’ve got a patio garden out the back. It’s enclosed. There’s a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right there on the drive.

There’s a shop, a pub, and a cafe about a ten-minute walk away. The pub serves food. The bus into York stops in the village, or it’s about a fifteen-minute drive if you’ve got a car.

York is the main draw. You can see the Minster, walk the walls, or go to the Jorvik Centre. The Yorkshire Air Museum is just outside the city, and Burnby Hall Gardens are at Pocklington, which is a short drive east.

If you like walking or birdwatching, Wheldrake Ings nature reserve is right on the doorstep. It’s part of the Lower Derwent Valley. Fishing is available locally too.

The coast at places like Filey or Bridlington is under an hour’s drive. The Yorkshire Wolds are closer, maybe half an hour, if you want rolling countryside.

No pets, sorry.
