Spindlestone is a one-bedroom cottage in Northumberland. It's near a place called West Mains. You get your own little garden out the front that slopes down to a stream. It's quiet.
It's for two people. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a wood burner, which is useful if you're there in the colder months. The front is mostly glass, so it's quite light. The patio gets the sun.
The beams inside have some Northumberland myths painted on them. The cottage was a byre originally, part of a smallholding. It's one of a pair, the other one is called Shepherdskirk. You can book both together if you're a group of four.
The coast is about ten minutes drive away. Holy Island is close, but you have to check the tide times for the crossing. Berwick-upon-Tweed is ten miles one way, Alnwick about twenty the other. There's a shop and a pub two miles away.
If you like walking, the Cheviot hills are inland from here. For climbing, Kyloe Crags are nearby. The coast path is good for a proper stretch. You can get a train from Berwick to Edinburgh or Newcastle in under an hour if you fancy a day in the city.
It's got a dishwasher and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets.
