The Old Farmhouse is in Ancroft. It's about five miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed, near the Scottish border. It's a proper old stone farmhouse set back from the lane, with fields all around.
It sleeps nine, which is a lot. There are five bedrooms and, usefully, five bathrooms. Four of the bedrooms are doubles or twins, and there's a single room as well. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The kitchen is big with a farmhouse table. There are two sitting rooms, one with an open fire. The conservatory at the back has good views. French doors lead to the garden, which is enclosed by a stone wall. There's a hot tub.
A thing to mention: the property is listed as wheelchair accessible at the entrance. If that's important to you, please check the specifics with us so we can confirm the layout.
Ancroft itself is tiny. You'll need to drive for most things. Berwick has shops, pubs, and a railway station. The coast is close. You've got beaches like Bamburgh and Holy Island (Lindisfarne) within about half an hour. The history round here is serious. English Heritage Berwick is a good starting point.
For wider walks and coastline, the Northumberland National Park and Northumberland Coast sites are useful.
Facilities: it's got WiFi, a TV, dishwasher, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. There's parking. You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed.
