Hobbit House is in Horncliffe, Northumberland. It's one of a terrace of old railway cottages at Velvet Hall Station. The setting is quiet and rural. You're about five miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed.
It sleeps four, but it's one bedroom. That bedroom is upstairs. There's one bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. The ceiling in there is a bit low, just so you know. The stairs are cottage stairs too, a bit steeper than modern ones.
Downstairs is all one room: a living area, a dining space, and the kitchen at the back. It's straightforward. The kitchen has what you need to cook. There's an enclosed garden out the back with a patio. It gets the sun in the evening. Parking is right outside for two cars.
It's a 3 Star rated place. That means it's clean and comfortable, not luxurious.
You can take two dogs. There's the garden and fields all around for walks. The River Tweed is very close for fishing. Norham Castle is a short drive away, it's an English Heritage site. Berwick-upon-Tweed is the proper town nearby. You can walk the historic walls, go to the beach, or find pubs and restaurants.
The coast is about five miles. For a longer day out, you can drive to Edinburgh or Newcastle in about an hour. The train from Berwick is even quicker.
Facilities are what you'd expect: TV, WiFi, washing machine, all bedding and towels are included. There's local golf and horse riding if you want it.
