Number Twenty-Nine

It's Number Twenty-Nine, in Berwick upon Tweed. It's one of those upside-down houses, so the bedroom's on the ground floor. It's just for two people.

The stairs up to the living room are short, but they're steep and have two turns. There are grab rails fitted on both sides, which helps. Upstairs is the kitchen, a dining space, and the living area. It's all open plan. The shower room is modern and has a walk-in rainfall shower. Downstairs, there's a separate toilet as well.

It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not overly luxurious. You're about two minutes from the railway station and the town centre. There are a few pubs and places to eat within walking distance.

Berwick's a good spot for exploring. You can drive down to the coast for the beaches at Lowick and Goswick, they're often very quiet. Holy Island is about a half hour drive south, but you must check the tide times for the causeway. Heading north, you're into the Scottish Borders very quickly.

The train from Berwick station gets you into Edinburgh in under an hour, which is handy if you fancy a day in the city without driving.

Facilities are straightforward: WiFi, bedding and towels are included, there's a shower, and you can walk to the coast. No pets, sorry.
