Whiteadder Cottage

Whiteadder Cottage is in Spittal, which is part of Berwick-upon-Tweed. It's a ground floor apartment, so there are no stairs to worry about inside. The front door opens straight onto the pavement.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One has a double bed, the other has a single bed with another single that pulls out from underneath it. That makes it either a twin or a small double. There's one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and functional.

You're a couple of minutes' walk from Spittal Beach. It's a good, wide beach, popular with families. The back garden is enclosed, which is useful if you have dogs or kids. It gets the sun and is sheltered from the wind.

The open plan living area means you're not cut off from everyone while you're in the kitchen. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. The kitchen and bathroom were both redone not long ago.

There's a local pub a few streets away. Berwick town centre is about a 15 minute walk along the coast path. You go over the famous bridges to get there. It's an interesting old town with the usual shops, cafes, and a few restaurants.

For a day out, you can drive north into Scotland. Edinburgh is just over an hour away if the traffic's alright. South into Northumberland, Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island are about half an hour's drive. The Northumberland coast path is right on the doorstep.

In terms of what's here, there's a washing machine, bedding and towels are included, and there's WiFi. You can bring up to two dogs.
