Dowie House Steading is in Haggerston, near Berwick-upon-Tweed. It's an old farm steading, so it's a solid stone building sat by itself in the fields. You've got a good bit of garden and a decking area out the back.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. One has a kingsize bed. The other one can either be set up as a single with a pull-out trundle underneath, or you can push the two beds together to make a superking. It's quite handy for flexibility. The bathroom is a good size and has a shower over the bath.
Inside, it's a big open-plan living room with a wood burner. It gets a good amount of light from the arched door to the garden. The kitchen has what you'd need: dishwasher, washing machine, microwave.
The location is its main thing. You're right in the middle of farmland, about a mile from the beach at Haggerston. It feels properly remote, but you're actually just off the A1. So getting around is straightforward. The nearest shop is a few miles away in Scremerston. There's a pub about five miles off.
For the area, you're well placed. Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island are a short drive north. You can be in Alnwick in about half an hour. Edinburgh is roughly an hour's drive up the A1 if you fancy a city day. The Northumberland Coast Path is right there for walking. For planning outings, the Northumberland Coast AONB site is useful, and the National Trust looks after a lot of the big castles and beaches here.
Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's parking right next to the cottage. It has WiFi and a TV. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Sorry, no pets allowed.
