Lapwing Cottage
Lapwing Cottage is in Weldon, Northumberland. It's a detached barn conversion we did up a few years ago. It sleeps three. There's one bedroom with a super king bed we can split into twins if you ask. The sofa bed in the living room is there if you need an extra person, but it's more suited to a child.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The living space is open plan and gets a lot of light from that big arch window. You can sit there and watch the birds in the field. The electric fire keeps it cosy.
Outside, there's a small patio area at the front. The grounds are shared with three other cottages but they're spacious. You have private access to the River Coquet if you fancy some fishing.
The pub and restaurant at Weldon Bridge is less than a mile away. It's in an old railway carriage. They do good food and ales. Morpeth is about nine miles for more shops and places to eat. Rothbury is closer, about six miles. The big attraction there is Cragside House and Gardens, which is worth a visit.
You're well placed for the coast. Alnwick Castle and the beaches are about a half hour's drive. The Northumberland National Park is on the doorstep for walking.
For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring one dog. There's bike storage if you need it.
The other three cottages nearby are ours too, so if you're a bigger group you can book them together.
