The Croft

The Croft is just outside Longhorsley village. It's a bungalow, so it's all on one level. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The main room has high ceilings and a wood burner. The kitchen at the back looks out onto the garden. It's a decent size, gets the sun, and you might see rabbits or birds. We leave logs for the fire.

Longhorsley has a village shop and a pub that does food. The Linden Hall Hotel is less than a mile away if you fancy a round of golf.

Rothbury is about eight miles up the road. It’s a small town with cafes and pubs along the river. The main thing there is Cragside, which is worth a visit. It's a large Victorian house with big gardens and was the first house lit by hydroelectricity. You can book tickets online: National Trust Cragside.

The coast is about ten miles away. That includes Alnmouth and Warkworth. Alnwick Castle is about half an hour's drive. The nearest bit of the National Park is just beyond Rothbury, around the Simonside Hills.

For facilities: there's parking right outside, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and towels and bedding are included. There's WiFi and a TV. Sorry, no pets.
