Cosy Cottage is on the riverbank in Warkworth. It's a semi-detached house in a little courtyard of four. You're right by the River Coquet, so a walk along the river is easy.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's in good order and has everything you need. There's a sun room on the back, with glass on three sides. It's bright. That opens onto a small, enclosed patio.
The village is a two minute walk. There's a very good local shop, and a couple of pubs that do food. The beach at Warkworth is quite wide and sandy. It's about a mile away.
Alnwick is just over three miles away. That's where Alnwick Castle and the garden are. Craster, for the kippers and Dunstanburgh Castle, is about a twenty minute drive up the coast.
If you want a proper day by the sea, drive ten minutes north to Alnmouth. It's a classic Northumberland beach. Further north, Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island are both within a half hour drive.
Facilities: there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Wi-Fi is included. You can bring up to two dogs, but the patio is enclosed. Bedding and towels are provided.
For planning visits: National Trust Northumberland Coast and English Heritage Places to Visit for the castles.
