Coastal Retreat

This is Coastal Retreat in Amble. It's a modern detached house, built in 2020. Sleeps eight, four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It’s got a 5 Star rating, which means it’s well-equipped and finished to a good standard. You can bring up to two dogs.

The layout is over three floors. The main living room is on the first floor, with doors to a small balcony. Good views from there over the sand dunes and out to sea. There’s also a snug room off the kitchen downstairs if people want to spread out.

It’s in a great spot for the coast. The beach is about a three-minute walk. Amble harbour and the town centre are a few minutes more on foot. There's a shop about 650 yards away, and a pub and a restaurant both 300 yards.

The house has an enclosed rear garden, parking on site, a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them.

From Amble, you can walk along the coast to Warkworth and its castle. It’s a couple of miles. Boat trips from the harbour go out to Coquet Island for the seabirds.

Alnwick Castle and Gardens are about a fifteen-minute drive north. To the south, you’ve got the whole Northumberland coast. It’s all part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For wider planning, the Northumberland National Park site is useful, and National Trust North East covers a lot of the local castles and coastline.
