Castle Walk

It's called Castle Walk. It's a ground floor apartment in Amble, Northumberland. You get a view of Warkworth Castle and the marina from the back.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. One bedroom has a super king bed that can be made into two singles if you need it. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up recently, so it's tidy and comfortable. There's a nautical theme but it's subtle.

The living room has an electric fire and decent sofas. You've got a dishwasher, Wi-Fi, TV, and all the bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

You park at the apartment and then you can walk to most things. It's just behind the high street. The harbour is a short walk down the hill. There are a few places to eat and drink there, and some little pods where local people sell things. You can watch the fishing boats come in. There's a fish shop on the quay. There's a market on the harbour on Sunday mornings.

The beach is about ten minutes walk away. It's a small beach with some beach huts. There's a park for kids nearby too.

You can walk from the door over to Warkworth village. It's about a mile along the river. The castle is right there on the hill. The village has some nice tea rooms and shops.

Alnwick is a 15-minute drive. The castle is worth a visit. They used it for some Harry Potter filming. Alnmouth station is 4 miles away if you fancy a day trip to Newcastle, York, or even Edinburgh by train.

Further up the coast, Craster, Bamburgh, and Holy Island are all within about a 30 minute drive for a good day out. This is all Vera country too, if you're a fan of the show.
