Sandsedge Cottage

Sandsedge Cottage is in Ellington, Northumberland. It's a converted barn, one of a cluster of a few stone cottages. You're about 200 yards from the beach at Druridge Bay, which is a good, long sandy beach. You can see it from the end of the lane.

It sleeps four. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxury. It has a woodburning stove, which is nice in the winter.

There are some stairs inside. They're the original cottage stairs, so they're a bit steeper and narrower than modern ones. Just something to be aware of.

You've got a small garden to yourselves, with a BBQ. Parking is on site. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and we provide a cot and highchair if you need them. There's a local pub in the village.

For a day out, the beach is the main thing. It's great for walks. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about half an hour's drive north. To the south, within 30 minutes, you've got both Warkworth and Dunstanburgh castles right on the coast for more walking and history. Morpeth is the nearest proper town for shops.
