Beachcomber Cottage

Beachcomber Cottage is in Newbiggin by the Sea. It's a terraced house, two bedrooms, sleeps four. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and clean, not luxury.

The cottage is just behind the main street. It's a two-minute walk to the promenade and the beach. There's a small paved yard out the back.

The stairs are fairly steep. They're normal for a cottage like this, but worth knowing. There's one bathroom upstairs.

You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi.

Newbiggin is a small place. There's a shop and a pub about five minutes' walk away. The beach is sandy and good for a proper walk. The Maritime Centre is on the point if you're interested in the local history.

For a longer drive, you're on the edge of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Druridge Bay is about ten minutes south. North from here, the coast road goes past Bamburgh Castle and onto Holy Island. You can get to either in under an hour.

Morpeth is a market town about eight miles inland. It has shops and a train station. Hadrian's Wall is less than an hour's drive if you fancy a day out that way. The English Heritage site has good information for planning visits.
