Seaside Retreat is a first-floor apartment in Newbiggin by the Sea. The name's a bit fancy for it, to be honest. It's our flat up the stairs in a terraced house. You get it to yourselves, with your own front door on the side of the building. The street is quiet.
It's about 150 yards from the promenade and the beach. A two-minute walk, really. The apartment sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything works.
Newbiggin itself is a small, friendly town. The promenade is about a mile long for a walk. There's an ice cream place, cafés, and a couple of restaurants. The local pub is a few minutes' walk away. In the bay, you'll see a sculpture of a couple out on the breakwater. The local lifeboat launches from here, so you might see it out practising.
Facilities in the flat: there's a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on the street outside.
If you want to explore, Morpeth is about fifteen minutes' drive for more shops. The coastline north of here is very good for walking. Northumberland County Council's country parks page has some options. For bigger days out, Alnwick Castle is under an hour's drive. The whole Northumberland Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and worth a trip.
No pets, sorry.
