You're a few minutes' drive from the coast. Cambois beach is usually quiet, and Blyth beach has a popular ice cream and fish and chip place. Newbiggin-by-the-Sea has a long promenade. The town of Bedlington itself has pubs, cafes, and shops.
You're well placed for exploring Northumberland. You can be at Warkworth or Dunstanburgh castles within half an hour for a good walk. Alnwick Castle and The Alnwick Garden are about a 40 minute drive north. The Northumberland National Park and Hadrian's Wall are under an hour west. For a dark sky night, Kielder is roughly an hour away.
