Drovers is in Morpeth. It's a Victorian house, built around 1890. It's on a residential street, but you're only a few minutes' walk from the town centre. You can park on the road outside.
The house sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom, plus a separate downstairs toilet. It's got a 4 Star rating. The family that built it still owns it, so a lot of the original features are still there. The kitchen and bathroom have been modernised.
The front door has a step, but it's not a high one. The garden is enclosed and private.
You're about 350 yards from a pub that does food. There's a shop 600 yards away. Morpeth is a proper market town with banks, supermarkets, and a market on Wednesdays. The train station is handy if you want to go to Newcastle or Durham for the day.
For history, you're in a good spot. The Northumberland coast with its castles is about a half hour drive. National Trust Northumberland Coast has information on some of them. Hadrian's Wall is within an hour's drive. The English Heritage site is useful for that.
If you like walking, the Cheviot hills aren't far. For a different day out, you can drive to the coast at Alnmouth or Amble in under half an hour. Seahouses, from where you get boats to the Farne Islands, is about 45 minutes.
Inside, there's a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
